Alex is currently Managing Director for Fortman Cline’s Private Equity Group in New York and has over 25 years experience in finance, private equity and emerging markets investments particularly in China. He was previously a partner at Clemente Asset Management and Managing Director at Mariner Pacific Ltd., a private equity financial advisory firm in New York, where he assisted various Asian companies across multiple industries in raising capital and acquiring assets since 2000. Prior to this, Alex was Vice President at GEM Advisors, where he was responsible for the firm’s emerging market fund investments in the Asia Pacific region. He was also Chief Financial Officer for NewState Holdings, a U.S. publicly-listed mortgage banking company invested by GEM.
Prior to GEM, Alex was Vice President at Furman Selz, an investment bank based in New York. He was also previously Vice President at Financial Securities Assurance, Electric Utilities Analyst at Dean Witter Reynolds, and head of product development at FactSet Research.
Alex earned his BA Economics and BS Computer Science degrees from Columbia University and his MS Management degree from Sloan School of Management at MIT. He is also a Chartered Financial Analyst and a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts.
